Danielle’s look at what makes each of these sins the deadliest.

Wrath: inordinate and uncontrollable feelings of hatred and anger*

Greed: excessive desire and pursuit of wealth, power, and status*

Lust: excessive thoughts or desires of a sexual nature*

Sloth: severe apathy; insufficiency of love; failure to utilize one’s talents*

Envy: an insatiable desire to deprive other men of what is theirs*

Gluttony: excessive desire for food; over-indulgence to the point of waste*

Pride: a desire to be more important or attractive than others (Greed, Envy, Lust), failing to acknowledge the good work of others (Sloth), and excessive love of self (Gluttony). Dante’s definition was “love of self perverted to hatred and contempt for one’s neighbor.”(Wrath)*
